Placerita Canyon Nature Center Newhall

Family nature walk, seasonal blooms and monthly bird walk at Placerita Canyon

When: 1st and 2nd Saturday at 8 a.m. (bird walk), 4th Saturday at 9:30 a.m. (flowers of the season), every Saturday at 11 a.m. (family nature walk) and every Saturday at 10 a.m. and noon (Saturday morning Nature Discovery Center)

What: Monthly bird walk is offered on the first and second saturday of each month (weather permitting) from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. This program is designed for all levels of “bird watchers”. Bring your binoculars (or borrow ours), water, comfortable shoes, and a field guide if available.

Flowers of the season stands on fourth saturday of each month and starts at 9:30 a.m. in front of the steps of the Center de la Nature. Learn about native plants and what blooms year-round along our trails.

Family nature walk is Every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. An easy one-hour walk for the whole family to discover the fauna, flora and cultural history of our natural space. These hikes are led by Placerita Docents, are free and start in front of the steps of our nature center. Pre-registration is not required, but rides will be limited to 15 people and all must adhere to current COVID restrictions and guidelines.

Discovery of the Nature Center on Saturday morning it’s every Saturday at 10 a.m. and noon. A fun encounter with the superintendents of natural spaces! Learn more about your park, ask us questions, and discover fun ways to make the most of your visit!
