Taylor Richardson, also known as the Starbright astronaut, is a teenage lecturer and philanthropist, a student from Bolles who is expected to graduate in 2022 and aspires to someday visit Mars. In the meantime, she visits film sets and magazine pages.
Richardson is considered a culture-changing global game changer. She was selected as one of 40 Amazing People Under 40 to appear in a YouTube Original documentary titled The foreigners? by Simon Frederick, the director of Black Hollywood: They Must Have Us and Black is the new black.
The film, released in early October, is an exclusive six-part series that features the brightest black talent from around the world, including record artists, performers, publishing directors and other visionaries shaping the future. Each episode deals with a different aspect of the breed, asks questions, explores experiences, and draws attention to the bright and dark sides of being extraordinary.
“I didn’t expect the Starbright astronaut to explode. I just wanted to make a difference in my community, ”says Richardson in the documentary. She also talks about her invitation to the White House, her desire to raise funds and the support she received from Oprah Winfrey.
Richardson was also featured recently in a national magazine: People, in honor of International Day of the Girl Child on October 11. People chose Richardson as one of their world-changing daughters in 2021. They found her to be one of the “young innovators and trailblazers making a difference in their communities and beyond”.
Latonja Richardson said of her daughter Taylor: “She’s making her mark in the world and in Jacksonville!
